Child Identification Program
The Hobart Police D.A.R.E. Program is the first in our area to take the child fingerprint I.D.
card to the next level. What we are creating is a small plastic I.D. card the size of a credit
card. this card ontains all of the basic identification information. The childs picture and the
right thumb print. This card is meant to be kept in your purse/wallet so that it is readily
available in an emergency. This enables police or secuirty personnel to get your child's information
and photograph broadcasted as quickly as possible.
When time is cruical you do not want to have to go home and find this information, you want to have it
with you. In addition to receiving the I.D. card that you carry with you. The Hobart Police Department
will have on file the indentification sheet you complet, a digitial photograph and thumbprint. This
means that even if you are not in your local area when something happens (and you need to get this information to
another police department) you can contact the Hobart Police at 219-942-1125 to have the information e-mailed.
